Snapshots: From Spring to Summer in Lowertown, Saint Paul, MN

A random collection of photos from over the spring-summer 2007 period in Lowertown, Saint Paul. All images taken with a Motorola Razr V3xx camera phone unless other photographer credited.

DIFFERENT SEASONS, COMING AND GOING, COMING AND GOING
2 March 2007. The transition from winter to summer was via a very jerky spring, with lots of snow, followed by sun, followed by snow.... Etc.
13 March 2007. During spring, the weather's flip-flopping is between blizzards and sunny days; during summer, it's between massive thunderstorms and baking hot sunny days.

EVENTS & ENTERTAINMENT

Amanda heads for the pinyata at her surprise party, 10 July 2007.

It was a well-planned event, including much bare-faced lying, a break-in, and at least one noise complaint, which is always the sign that someone's having too much fun in the Lutheran Police State that is Minnesota. Good job Jennifer, Daniella, and Elana. :-)

See the video from the Spring 2007 Saint Paul Art Crawl featuring Amanda and other Tilsner Artists' Cooperative residents.

VARIOUS ODDITIES
The Midwest has some oddly-named gas stations. As well as the Kum & Go chain, you may be lucky enough to drive by a Pump & Munch. The latter chain sounds like a slightly more considerate lover. 11 July 2007.
One of the most amazing views from the Tilsner, with boats, planes, trains, automobiles, and a variety of other movement 24/7. Still good after all these months. 14 April 2007. See a one hour timelapse movie of this view compressed into 2.5 minutes (25 X the speed of life).

The brown sign on the street light heralds the "Lowertown Historical District". The white building that served as the icon for the District on the sign was bulldozed to make room for the car park on the left, for the convenience of the new yuppie condo project in the rennovated Great Northern Warehouse on the right of frame. Shout out to Rob for pointing this out a few years ago. 13 July 2007.
