Operation Cast Lead: Israeli War Crimes and Genocide

Israel's 27 December 2008 to 18 January 2009 attack on Gaza "Operation Cast Lead" was particularly vicious:

  • ISRAEL VIOLATED INTERNATIONAL LAW

    No less than four different human rights organizations have issued reports about Israel's actions in Gaza as "war crimes".

    Physicians for Human Rights-Israel and the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS) released a press release entitled "Medical fact-finding mission on Gaza finds Israel was 'creating terror without mercy'".

    The American National Lawyers Guild released a report alleging that Israel violated international law and US domestic law in Gaza.

    Human Rights Watch released a report called "Rain of Fire", alleging that Israel's white phosphorus use was "evidence of war crimes".

    Amnesty International released a statement titled "Call for accountability for abuses of human rights and international law in Gaza and Southern Israel".

    ISRAEL IS COMMITTING GENOCIDE

    Article 2 of the 1951 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide includes the following:

    In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:

    (a) Killing members of the group;

    (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;

    (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part.

    These are the facts of the matter. What we all do with them will determine how our future unfolds. Enough is enough.
